Selling On Ebay-Hurricane Katrina Disaster Relief Donations

This week I am donating all profits for my ebay sales to hurricane katrina disaster relief. I have been absolutely amazed at the response of so many people in the USA who have taken the time to either donate money, supplies or their time to hurricane katrina disaster relief.

If you'd like to follow my example and donate your ebay profits for this week here is the place to visit, updated by my good friend and fellow blogger Tinu Abayamu-Paul. She has a huge heart. Go to her website at:

Should you Use Free Image Hosting?

Well, that's entirely up to you, but some sites may not be reliable. Generally though, if they are reliable (meaning your images are up 99.9% of the time) with the the free version then they will be with a paid one. I would try out the free version of any site if they have one for a couple of months before upgrading just to get a feel for how reliable the service and uptime is.

If you don't run alot of auctions you may want to stick with free image hosting instead of paying for an upgrade.

It is a good idea when first starting out selling on ebay to use free image hosting until you get your feet under you and decide what niche you want to pursue (what, you don't have a niche)

We'll discuss niche marketing, what it is and why you should be using it in a future post. In any case, you shouldn't be paying alot for your image hosting.

Should you Host Your Pictures With Ebay?

While the first picture is free and you should always upload an image if you want it listed in the image gallery, I would not recommend using Ebay's image hosting service.

Remember it's an added $0.15 to your listing fee for each additional picture after your first picture. And the more images of your item you have the better your bids are in general.

Because people want to know as much about what they're bidding on as possible so you should show as much pictures as possible to capture details, characteristics, and flaws.

Hosting free is definately a better choice. And if you can find a good deal on hosting (like the deal at photobucket.com for $25.00 per year for unlimited picture hosting) then if and when you need to host more pictures this is the way to host your images instead of hosting at ebay.
